New Jersey Future Unveils Bold Policy Roadmap to Guide the State’s Next Administration
TRENTON, NJ, June 16, 2025—At the in-person session of the 2025 New Jersey Planning and Redevelopment Conference (PRC), New Jersey Future officially launched its new policy roadmap, Redeveloping New Jersey, Planning for Prosperity. Presented by Executive Director Peter Kasabach to a crowd of more than 500 attendees at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, the 20-page document lays out a strategic and solutions-driven framework to guide the state’s next governor and legislature.
The roadmap arrives at a pivotal moment, just days after the state’s primary elections, which saw Republican Jack Ciattarelli and Democrat Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill secure their nominations. With November’s gubernatorial election on the horizon, Redeveloping New Jersey provides timely, actionable recommendations that can help shape a policy agenda focused on prosperity for all New Jerseyans.
“For nearly four decades, New Jersey Future has championed smart and equitable growth throughout the Garden State,” said Kasabach. “As we approach a crucial juncture in New Jersey’s political landscape, we are pleased to present this roadmap as a resource to inform and inspire candidates and policymakers alike. These recommendations offer practical and cost-effective strategies to grow our economy, protect our environment, and expand opportunity in every corner of our state.”
The conference, hosted annually by New Jersey Future and the New Jersey Chapter of the American Planning Association, convenes hundreds of planning professionals, advocates, local leaders, and change agents committed to creating stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities.
New Jersey Future’s policy roadmap emphasizes the organization’s long-standing priorities—sustainable land use, strategic redevelopment, infrastructure investment, climate resilience, affordable housing, and equitable access to opportunity. It is rooted in the belief that every resident deserves to live in a place that is safe, vibrant, and full of possibility.
“This document is a call to action,” Kasabach added. “We invite every candidate—and every voter—to engage with the ideas it presents. The choices we make today will shape the future of New Jersey for generations. Let’s choose prosperity that leaves no one behind.”
